Industrial Cooling Tower

Further Information:

Our Industrial Cooling Towers are a combination of decades of research and incorporate the latest technologies available. First class materials and construction methods are selected and the final design is optimised for the specified application.

  • Robust Design for Continuous Operation
  • Low Energy and Water Consumption
  • Low Noise
  • Cooling Tower Structure

Cooling Tower StructureCyclone Cooling Towers are constructed from FRP, Timber or concrete. The Cooling Tower structure is a bolted frame made in FRP profiles. The tower frame work shall consist of structural shapes of pultruded fibreglass composite, stiffened with diagonal braces to transfer wind, earthquake and other live loads to the basin. A large area of the fan deck will be walkable and designed to allow an easy maintenance of the tower, accessible from ground level via stair/ladder and completely surrounded by handrails. The members are designed following major international codes and standards.
  • Mechanical Equipment

Cooling Tower Mechanical EquipmentThe Mechanical Equipment consists of Motor, Gearbox, Fan and Driveshaft.
  • In Fill / Packing

Cooling Tower In FillThis low clog Polyvinyl chloride film type is designed with vertical flutes 20 mm spaced, selected to maximise the heat and mass exchange coefficients. The sheets special corrugation guarantees direct changes in air and water flows directions and it increases the cooling and thermal efficiency while the vertical channels allows the pollutants to be easily washed through.
  • Water Distribution System

Cooling Tower Water Distribution SystemAn optimised water distribution well adapted to the fill is the key element of the thermal performances. Hot water shall be introduced through ground headers, valves, and risers provided by others. FRP (fibreglass reinforced plastic) headers have one flanged connection outside each cell above the fill level for connection to the riser, by others. PVC distribution pipes are fitted with spray nozzles so spaced to guarantee uniform water feed to all cross section of the cell.
  • Drift Eliminator

Cooling Tower Drift EliminatorShell Drift Eliminators utilize a series of sinusoidal shaped rows assembled into a panel by means of suitable self bearing spacers. The row shape forces the leaving air stream to make three changes in direction. This drift eliminator can guarantee low drift rate and low pressure drop.
  • Fan Casing

Cooling Tower Fan CasingMechanical equipment in each cell of the tower has a fibreglass reinforced polyester fan stack. Each stack has a belled inlet and conical, diverging exit for reduced air pressure drop losses and pressure recovery for high fan efficiency. Fan stack sections are connected via lap joints allowing field adjustment of the stack diameter and control of fan blade tip clearance maximizing fan performance. The fan stacks are secured to the structure by through bolts attached to deck joists. Each stack has a removable access panel opening for maintenance on the fans and gears.

  • Access & Safety

Cooling Tower AccessThe fan deck can be accessible by the Staircase or ladder constructed from FRP. All Staircases/ladders are designed and constructed according to major international codes and standards. Hand railing shall be provided around the perimeter of the fan deck. Access to the inside of each cell of the tower shall be through a hatch in the fan deck with a ladder leading down to a local viewing platform at the drift eliminator level for inspection of the cooling tower internals.
